On the day before the protest (which happened to be my anniversary), I was walking back from a restaurant and ran into a load of them getting off buses. I had a couple of observations:
1) There were so many pasty white people with burned skin that I thought I was in a midwestern state fair. I actually wondered if I would find mini donuts and cheese curds. 2) I've never been asked for directions so many times in such a short period since moving to DC. I was surrounded by other people, but they all kept asking me. I also happened to be the only person who looked vaguely midwestern there.

Oh well, my bias is showing.
